Kjetil Jansrud ended his ski career last year. Now the father of two is celebrating the birthday of his father, who tried extreme sports for the first time at the age of 70.
Oslo – Kjetil Jansrud became world champion and Olympic champion as a ski racer. The Norwegian winter sports legend probably celebrated his greatest success following retiring from his career a year ago, when he married his wife Benedicte. A few months ago, the couple became parents of a daughter for the second time. Jansrud’s father seems to be thriving in his role as grandpa in his old age.

Jansrud’s father is celebrating his 70th birthday and racing down the mountain with his granddaughter and mountain bike
Jansrud’s second daughter, Iben, was born on June 20th, the ski star announced sweet baby news. The first child, Froya, was born in the summer of 2020. The two daughters are also a gift for Jansrud’s father Jan Ingvald, who celebrated his 70th birthday on Tuesday (September 5th).
“Happy 70th (!) birthday to my father. Had a great celebration with the family. Imagine you’re 70, lifting 100kg and trying downhill biking for the first time – and loving it! “You are unique and impressive in every respect,” Jansrud congratulated his father on his milestone anniversary. The 38-year-old also posted photos and videos of his father in action, but he was not alone on the mountain bike.

Jansrud seems to have inherited his sporting talent for coordination and speed from his father. Jansrud Senior races around a tight curve at high speed – a strong performance for someone who is trying out this extreme sport for the first time in his old age.
However, the 70-year-old has everything under control during the rapid mountain bike descent because his granddaughter has made herself comfortable on the bike in front of him. Froya is gripping the handlebars tightly with both hands, but seems to be having a lot of fun. In a photo in a gondola, the two of them smile happily into the camera. Froya is already used to the high speed that her two old men set and has already cut a good figure on skis.
Jansrud invites Svindal to slalom training with the children
Jansrud’s former ski colleague from the Norwegian team Aksel Lund Svindal became a father for the first time. Jansrud congratulated as it should and immediately extended an invitation: “Slalom training 5:30 p.m. Wyller, Thursday, January 10th, 2031.
