The request of the Engagés to organize an extraordinary debate on PFAS pollution, Tuesday, during the next Environment committee of the Walloon parliament, was accepted this Thursday noon by the Conference of Presidents, indicates the movement.

In addition to the questions to Minister Céline Tellier, “we will be able to request a hearing from those responsible for the administration and the Walloon Water Company (SWDE)“, he emphasizes.

According to an RTBF investigation broadcast Wednesday evening on the show #Investigationthe inhabitants of 12 villages in the Ath region (Chièvres, Tongre-Saint-Martin, Tongre-Notre-Dame, Huissignies, Ladeuze, Moulbaix, Villers-Notre-Dame, Ormeignies, Tourpes, Blicquy, Chapelle-à-Oie , Ellignies-Sainte-Anne, Aubechies) consumed water contaminated with PFAS – extremely persistent chemicals – between October 2021 and March 2023. A situation which was known to the SWDE and the regional administration.
