Extramural medical care arrives in Presidente Hayes

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The health service that was extended to users in Chaco included medical consultation, influenza vaccination and updating of the scheme, as well as prenatal control and tuberculosis prevention. It benefited more than 460 residents.

The indigenous communities of La Esperanza and La Promesa at km 192 of Presidente Hayes were visited by professionals from the USF Río Verde Cerrito and the Benjamín Aceval Health Center.

For two days, medical and pediatric clinics were offered, and 446 people were treated. Rapid tests for HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis were also carried out on 16 men and women.

Among the users who were treated, 25 patients with respiratory symptoms were identified and samples were taken to be inspected by a laboratory in order to prevent and treat tuberculosis in time.

As for prenatal care, three pregnant women began their check-ups before the fourth month, and 216 users were vaccinated once morest respiratory viruses such as influenza, and the schedule was updated for children under 5 years of age, with a total of 89 doses administered.

The day ended with several activities to promote and prevent respiratory diseases in light of the winter season, the Ministry of Public Health reported.
