Extensive AM lecture program at EMO

2023-08-28 09:05:32

The Additive Manufacturing Area at the EMO may be modest, but the technology is certainly discussed throughout the trade fair in Hanover. Actually as it should be, with the exhibitors on their regular stand. In doing so, they underline that 3D printing is an additional technology, with some important advantages.

Improved efficiency, material savings and enormous design freedom: Additive Manufacturing is finding its way to the metalworking industry. During EMO, visitors can become acquainted with a complete process chain of additive manufacturing. From materials, design and pre-print software, 3D metal and plastic printers with various technologies to post-processing, measurement and applications in sectors such as the car and aircraft industry, machine building and medical technology.

Four exhibition days with lectures

There is also an extensive lecture programme. In addition to CECIMO’s short AM conference on Wednesday, there are daily presentations regarding the subject. That starts on the first day with a lecture by GKN Additive at the Innovation Forum in hall 9, where you will also find the Additive Manufacturing Area. On Tuesday there will be lectures by Trinckle 3D regarding the automatic design of molds and fixtures for 3D printing. Carbide tool manufacturer ISCAR will also give a lecture. Everything happens on Tuesday in the VDMA Technology Forum in hall 4. On Wednesday, in addition to the CECIMO event, there will be a lecture by Q.BIG 3D regarding 3D printing of large functional components. This presentation belongs in the list of activities regarding Future of Sustainability in Production. 3D metal printing will be on the agenda once more on Thursday, with a lecture by Professor Reuber from Köln University of Applied Sciences in the VDMA Technology Forum. He discusses an investigation into the possibilities but also the challenges of 3D printing tools.

AM Area

In hall 9 you will find the Additive Manufacturing Area. A total of nine exhibitors will present themselves here, including Additive Industries and Trumpf, but also a lesser-known builder of AM systems, Hamuel. The AM group of Daimler Truck, the truck manufacturer that structurally uses additive manufacturing for the spare parts business, is also located here. You will also find the AM working group of the VDMA here.

EMO Hannover 2023 starts on September 18 and lasts until September 23. You can sign up for a free entrance ticket register via this link (use code KSvGm).
