Extension of the deadline for submitting this year’s tax returns, before the application was well opened, announced the Deputy Minister of Finance Haris Theocharis from the floor of the Parliament.
As he mentioned, for every day of delay in the start of submitting tax returns beyond March 31, an extension of corresponding days will be given.
Therefore, the June 30 deadline not valid and the new date is set within Julydepending on when the process will start.
According to the latest planning of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) taxisnet, will open for tax declarations, no later than April 30, with every date following the passing of the new Tax Procedure Code tomorrow, Thursday, April 18, to be possible. A few days following the opening for natural persons, the start of the submission of tax returns for legal persons will follow.
The delay in starting the process of submitting the declarations will delay the payment of the tax, without however changing its path payment of the first two installments at the end of August without surcharges.
With a provision passed by the Parliament, the way has been opened for the provision 3% discount to those who pay the income tax once until the end of August.
The provision states that “when the personal income tax for tax year 2023 is paid in one lump sum until the final date of payment of the first installment, a 3% discount is provided to the total amount of the tax and the debts confirmed with it”.
Regarding the payment installments of the personal income tax, it is defined that “the payment of the personal income tax, tax year 2023, is made in eight equal monthly installments, of which the first is paid until July 31 and each of the following until last working day of the following seven months.
If the deadline for submitting the declaration is extended to a date later than the deadline for payment of the first installment, the first two installments are paid until the deadline for the second installment.”
