Extension of date for submission of nomination papers for local body elections in Islamabad – Pakistan

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has extended the date for submission of nomination papers for local elections in Islamabad.

A meeting of the Election Commission was held under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja. In the meeting, the extension of the date of nomination papers in the local body elections of Islamabad was considered.

The Election Commission decided to extend the time for submission of nomination papers on the request of political parties and prospective candidates.

The Election Commission has extended the date for submission of nomination papers till August 28.

The polling for the local body elections to be held on September 29 in Islamabad will now take place on October 9.

It should be noted that the process of submission of nomination papers by the candidates to participate in the local body elections of Islamabad is going on while today was the last date for submission of nomination papers.

It should be remembered that on August 8, the Election Commission of Pakistan had released the election schedule for local elections.
