The Order of Nurses of Quebec has taken exception to college training and would like only those who have a baccalaureate to be recognized as “real” nurses.
However, we now understand to what extent the OIIQ has made it an obsession, to the point of flouting the most basic rules of science, pedagogy, and good governance.
It’s simple. The OIIQ has transformed itself into a militant organization, motivated by its ideological biases, to the detriment of its primary mission, which is to protect patients.

Final verdict
Following the staggering failure rate of candidates for the September 2022 exam, the Commissioner for Admission to Professions opened an investigation. His third report is even more scathing than the previous ones.
Essentially, the Order had no evidence to blame this failure rate on poor training provided during the pandemic. Worse, under the cover of poorly applied exam standards, he tampered with the passing scales in order to ensure a higher failure rate to further discredit college education.
Some 500 candidates unfairly failed.
The worst part is that the Commissioner criticizes the Order for pretending to implement its previous recommendations, without really putting in the necessary effort.

But nothing shakes the “quiet possession of the truth” of the OIIQ and its president.
Faced with this latest disavowal, he affirmed that he wanted to “maintain a position of openness” because he is “sensitive to the issues that this issue raises for the health and social services network.”
It was October 3. Since then, radio silence.
The Office of Professions has already appointed an independent expert to monitor the development of the new OIIQ exam.
This is far from enough.
Through its arrogance and bad faith, the OIIQ has jeopardized its credibility. He should definitely be placed under guardianship.
