Exposing the Horror of the October 7 Massacre: The Unseen Footage

The Consulate General of Israel would soon like to present to the deputies of the National Assembly a 44-minute video aimed at exposing the horror of the October 7 massacre.

Such presentations have already been organized all over the world, in France, the United States and English Canada in particular.

The video itself was broadcast on Wednesday for the first time in Quebec to a small group of journalists, including a representative of the Journal, and two Montreal police officers.

The objective is to inform the public and partly combat disinformation on social networks, according to what Consul Paul Hirschson explained in an interview. “It’s important to agree on the facts if we want to make informed decisions and have an honest conversation.”

To those who would like to see it as a public relations or propaganda operation by Israel, the latter challenges them to watch the video and say the same thing when it comes out.

Since the images are too harsh to be broadcast in the media, the idea is that by organizing these sessions, it will at least be possible to report indirectly, he explains.

“It took decades for a narrative denying the Holocaust to develop. It took a few days for parts of what happened on October 7 to be denied [par exemple que les civils étaient ciblés]while many things were filmed with a GoPro camera,” the consul is surprised.

Horror

The video consists of footage taken from GoPro cameras, surveillance cameras, cell phone videos, recorded phone conversations and social media clips.

Prepared by the Israeli government, it only details regarding 10% of the massacre which left around 1,400 dead.

According to the consul, the video is far from presenting the worst sequences of what happened.

Difficult to endure, the images show terrorists, some exulting in joy, killing terrified civilians, women and children while invoking God, often at point blank range.

One of the harshest sequences shows two children around ten years old seeing their father killed by a grenade while the three had taken refuge in their underwear in a shelter at the back of their house.

Indifferent

The two children are then seen in the house. One of them said he lost his sight following the grenade explosion. The other wonders why he isn’t dead yet. The terrorist pours a coke from the victims’ fridge as if nothing had happened.

Another sequence shows a worker who appears to be still alive being furiously aimed at the neck by a terrorist with a gardening tool with the aim of decapitating him.

Equally frightening are the audio clips broadcast.

We can also see many difficult to recognize corpses of children and women. Bodies are blackened, charred and unrecognizable.

The consul deplored the fact that certain media, including Radio-Canada, had declined the invitation to see the video.

“Not wanting to see something is the antithesis of journalism,” he lamented.
