Miquel Nieto, a teacher in Argentona (Barcelona) was arrested for having sexually assaulted dozens of minors hosted in Spain as part of a summer program for which he was enrolled as an educator.
Among his young victims, there are children from the Tindouf camps whom the man hosted at his home last summer, according to Spanish police sources cited by the Iberian press.
The individual indicted and in preventive detention as well as his companion and accomplice are linked to the eco-socialist movement Iniciativa per Catalunya Verds (ICV) which maintains close links with the Polisario Front. Both appeared on the 2015 municipal electoral list of this small group dissolved in 2019.
In the child pornography images seized from the sexual predator’s home, investigators detected around ten minors sent to Spain as part of “Vacation in Peace”, a program launched in the 1980s by the Polisario and financed by Algeria . Its organization is entrusted each year to a collective of Spanish far-left associations committed to separatist theses.
