Exports of wooden furniture fell by a quarter in January

In January 2024, wooden furniture worth a total of 13.336 million euros was exported from Latvia, including 4.059 million euros to Denmark, which is 30.4% (a year ago – 29%) of the total export volume of wooden furniture. and 21.6% less than in January 2023.

At the same time, wooden furniture worth 1.72 million euros was exported to Germany in January of this year, which is 32% less than in January 2023, and to Sweden – by 1.152 million euros, which is also a drop of 32% . Exports of wooden furniture to Germany amounted to 12.9% (a year ago – 14.2%) of total exports of wooden furniture, and to Sweden – 8.6% (a year ago – 9.5%).

At the same time, in January 2024, wooden furniture worth 5.68 million euros was imported into Latvia, which is 16.7% less than for the corresponding period in 2023.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the most wooden furniture was imported to Latvia from Poland – in the amount of 1.96 million euros, which is 14.9% less than in January 2023 and 34.5% (a year ago – 33.8%) from general imports of wooden furniture.

In January of this year, Latvia imported wooden furniture worth 872.5 thousand euros from Lithuania, which is a drop of 23.5% and accounts for 15.4% (16.7% a year ago) of the total imports of wooden furniture, and from China – by 577.5 thousand euros. , which is 6.3 times more than a year ago and amounts to 10.2% (a year ago – 1.3%) of the total imports of wooden furniture.
