Technologies for family farming are highlights of Agritech at Expointer 2024

The city of Esteio (RS), the stage for one of the main Brazilian agribusiness fairs, will host the 47th Expointer at Parque Assis Brasil from August 24 to September 1. Present every year at the event, Agritech will be bringing two tractors to the Expointer 2024 edition, the AGT-25 and 1160 fruit tractor, equipment designed to serve medium and small farmers.

Expointer 2024 event will be held between August 24th and September 1st, at Parque Assis, in Esteio (RS)

“Our equipment, in addition to optimizing productivity with greater agility and less effort, meets the needs of producers in Rio Grande do Sul very well, especially for crops that are important for family farming, such as grapes and apples. Therefore, being at Expointer, which is the main technology showcase in the state, is an important opportunity to bring our technologies to the fair’s visitors”, says Agritech’s Sales/Marketing Coordinator, Cesar Roberto Guimarães de Oliveira.

Small, practical and powerful

Launched at Expointer last year, the AGT-25 is a small, practical and powerful model, offered to the market in two models, with and without a roof, in addition to a series of factory benefits, such as the Mitsubishi 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with 24 hp, nine forward and three reverse gears, and 540 and 1000 RPM power take-off, in addition to 4 x 4 traction, side gear and hydraulic lift, which makes it the best cost-benefit ratio in the category.

“This model meets all specific operations on a small property or in crops that require narrow and small tractors, as is the case with operations in greenhouses”, highlights the coordinator.
Another highlight is the multifunctional and versatile 1160 Turbo Fruteiro. The tractor has 4X4 traction, a hydraulic lift capacity of 2,200 kg and synchronized main and secondary gears, in addition to offering occupational safety, comfort and well-being to the operator. As it is the most compact on the market in its category and weight, it has also achieved better performance in the middle of narrow vineyards.
“We offer family farmers smaller and narrower tractors that allow the operator to enter the vineyard rows and maneuver easily in the cultivation areas. The 1160 Turbo Fruteiro has features that contribute to making grape production increasingly efficient, contributing to the development of producers and the sector itself,” he emphasizes.

Focus on Rio Grande do Sul

The largest producer of grapes and wines in Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul has around 15,000 families that produce grapes, on around 47,000 hectares, and there are currently 539 wineries in operation in the state. Despite the rains that punished the gaúchos in April and May, the Institute of Management, Planning and Development of Vitiviniculture of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Consevitis-RS) estimates that the losses of around 500 hectares of plantations are equivalent to 1.12% of the total planted area in the state and were not greater because the harvest of the 2024 crop was carried out between December and March.

After the initial impact of the floods that hit the state, Rio Grande do Sul is now experiencing a period of reconstruction. Farmers in Rio Grande do Sul and the agricultural machinery sector are optimistic because, in addition to the R$76 billion allocated by the federal government to the Harvest Plan, R$210.9 million from the Rural Insurance Premium Subsidy Program (PSR) was also announced as additional resources to support the hiring of rural producers in Rio Grande do Sul affected by the rains.

The resource applied to the PSR in the State in 2024 will rise to R$368.3 million, counting on what has already been released or is scheduled from the general budget of the policy, of R$947.5 million this year.
“The state’s producers are in the process of rebuilding themselves and Agritech wants to be part of this process, mainly due to the historic partnership between the producers and our company, through technology targeted and adapted to the needs of Rio Grande do Sul’s producers”, reinforces Oliveira.
“We are optimistic about the return of agricultural events in the state, which is a reference in agriculture for Brazil. With our equipment, we want to help Rio Grande do Sul recover and once again show its strength to the entire country. Expointer will be our first event in the state after the rains, and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors with the same warmth with which the people of Rio Grande do Sul have always welcomed us,” he concludes.
