Expo Rueda Internacional is a showcase to promote and encourage commercial alliances

Asuncion, IP Agency.- With the participation of 55 foreign businessmen from different sectors and many from Paraguay, the Expo 2024 Mariano Roque Alonso Business Roundtable began this Tuesday, with the aim of closing commercial alliances and promoting the economic development of the country.

The Vice Minister of Industry, Lorena Méndez, who participated in the opening of the event that will take place until Friday 18th, in the Social Hall “Dr. Germán Ruiz Aveiro”, of the Rural Association of Paraguay (ARP), highlighted that this International Business Roundtable is a main showcase to enhance the opportunities of national companies by making alliances with foreign companies.

Méndez highlighted that this Expo Rueda is looking for five key opportunities: financing, alliances with other local companies, visibility in the market, and immediate feedback on our positioning and new opportunities,” he said.

He also highlighted that this platform of “Paraguayan opportunities for the world” has been designed for the growth of companies at a local level and to internationalize their operations, promoting export discipline to be competitive and attractive at a global level.

This space becomes the epicenter of international business negotiations and alliances, providing a unique platform for business exchange and growth.

Various sectors are participating, such as the segments of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, various consultancies and advisory services, agriculture, livestock, fishing and related services, real estate development, processed foods, clothing and textiles, transportation, logistics, storage, legal advice, investments and special regimes, among others.

For his part, the head of the Paraguayan Industrial Union (UIP), Enrique Duarte, indicated that this new edition of the International Roundtable was inaugurated with a renewed focus, focused on supporting micro, small and medium-sized companies, which showed their growth at the fair in the last two years.

He highlighted that of the total number of Paraguayan companies participating in the fair, 45% are micro-enterprises, 19% are small, 11% are medium-sized and 25% are large, highlighting the diversity and representativeness of the local business sector. This fact underlines the commitment and preparation of the trade sector, which has worked tirelessly to prepare the smallest companies and maximize their participation in this platform.

“We are satisfied with the results so far. We have not only generated business intentions, but concrete businesses and growth opportunities that are auspicious for our country,” said Duarte, commenting that the success of this business platform is the result of the joint work between the private sector and various government entities such as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Vice Ministry of MSMEs, as well as the different sectors of commerce and industry in the country.

“This Expo Rueda is not only a showcase for our products, but also an opportunity to strengthen international trade ties. We are here to create the ideal conditions for investment and business,” emphasized the president of the UIP.

The UIP reported that 950 people registered to participate in the meeting, of which 51% are Paraguayans and 49% are foreigners. 80% of the meeting, which runs until Friday 18, is in person; while 20% is virtual.

They are from 61 categories from 23 countries: Germany, Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, United States, India, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Taiwan, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam.
