Expo 2020 Dubai .. Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day

Expo 2020 Dubai hosted Saudi Arabia’s National Day celebrations, which included air shows and performances from Saudi folklore.

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s celebrations of its National Day at Expo 2020 Dubai, on Friday, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Commissioner-General of Expo 2020 Dubai, received Faisal Al Ibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning in Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Director General of the Expo Bureau 2020 Dubai, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State.

The reception was also attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al Dakhil, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the UAE, Najeeb Al Ali, Executive Director of the Office of the Commissioner General at Expo 2020 Dubai, and a number of officials from the two countries.

The official ceremony began with the raising of the flags of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the national anthems of the two countries were played in Al Wasl Square, according to a statement obtained by Al-Ain News, a copy of it.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan said: “Since its opening with the launch of the international event, the pavilion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become the second largest pavilion participating in Expo 2020. And one of the most prominent pavilions that visitors to the international event visit.”

He continued, “The pavilion building, with its sophisticated and sky-oriented design, embodies the Kingdom’s path to achieving future growth, in line with Vision 2030, which is a role model in the region.”

He added, “While its multiple pillars represent the pillars on which the Kingdom relies, such as diversifying the economy, empowering the private sector, and enhancing international cooperation, to pave the way for the upward growth plans that it has set.”

He explained, “The participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Expo 2020, reflects how our culture embodies our identity, and how we, the peoples of this unique part of the world, share a long history, family ties, and frameworks for joint action with the Arab and Islamic worlds.”

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Turki Al-Dakhil, said: “Today we gather to celebrate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its civilizational achievements at Expo 2020 Dubai, on the soil of the United Arab Emirates, in the celebration of the Saudi Day, through which we express our pride in our ancient history, the reality of our development process, and our continuous development. And our ambitious vision, our rich culture, our authentic open identity, our love for humanity, and our tireless work with the world in order to prosper life and spread stability and human dignity, which can be seen much of it in the Saudi pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.”

He added: “Through our country’s real wealth, namely the Saudi men and women working in the Kingdom’s pavilion, or through the diversity of the exhibits of the Saudi pavilion, which we were pleased to host regarding two million and five hundred thousand visitors. The celebration included air shows, fireworks, cultural performances derived from cultural diversity, and performances from Saudi folklore, as well as bands, artistic concerts, and a military cultural march for the military musical band, which includes 100 soldiers, accompanied by volunteers of the Saudi wing wearing uniforms of various designs between designs. Designed by the Spanish engineering office, Boris Mica Associates, the Saudi pavilion features an innovative and sustainable design, and holds a platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certificate, as it is completely dependent on renewable energy and zero carbon impacts for its operation.

The pavilion also reflects, through its various programs and activities, the vivid image of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is divided into four main pillars that include nature, people, heritage and investment opportunities, as well as an energy and sustainability plant, a brilliant presence of traditional Saudi crafts, folkloric performances, and famous dishes that represent the various regions of the Kingdom. .

National and Honorary Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are distinguished times to celebrate all the more than 200 international participants, highlighting their culture, their achievements, and displaying their pavilions and programs. Each of these National and Honorary Days features a flag raising ceremonies at the Nations Platform in Al Wasl Square, followed by speeches and cultural performances.
