The two Swedes are accused of violating Danish terror laws, as the Ritzau news agency reported, citing the investigators. Denmark now also wants to control more closely at the borders with Sweden and Germany.
“Unfortunately, the latest developments confirm that the terrorist threat against Denmark is serious,” the police said in a statement. Vehicles and travelers should be checked at random.
Two hand grenades exploded
On Wednesday night, two hand grenades exploded near the Israeli embassy. Three younger Swedes were arrested. One was released, the other two were taken into custody.
Shots were fired at the Israeli embassy in the Swedish capital Stockholm late on Tuesday evening. The Swedish public prosecutor sees a connection between the crimes.
The operational head of the Swedish intelligence service Säpo, Fredrik Hallström, told the Swedish news agency TT on Thursday that, among other things, the target of Israel and the approach supported the hypothesis that Iran could have been involved in the acts against the two embassies.
