The fateful incident occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Mesitas del Colegio, a popular tourist destination located about four hours from Bogotá.
Among the deceased is David Cruz, an employee who had been working there for 30 years, and MarĂa Dominga Campos, a street vendor. Authorities immediately responded to the incident, with the Cundinamarca fire department, the Civil Defense and the National Police deploying resources to address the emergency.
The injured people, who include three minors, were transferred to the Nuestra Señora del Carmen hospital, where they continue under medical observation.
