Explosion reported at a warehouse of the Mayan Train in Quintana Roo

QUINTANA ROO.- A house used as a winery for tool and alleged storage of dynamite broke out in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puertowith no injuries reported.

The property, located on 43rd Street in the Javier Rojo Gómez neighborhood, was uninhabited because it is rented for work allegedly linked to the Maya Train megaproject, said residents of the area.

The director of the Fire Department of the Maya municipality, Neiro Alonso Cen, declared to the local press that at 3 pm yesterday Monday the emergency number 911 was received, report of an explosion which was heard and shook the inhabitants of the aforementioned colony, in addition to Juan Bautista and Rafael E. Melgar.

As they approached, the elements themselves heard another rumble.

“It is indeed a dynamite explosion. It seems to be a winery. Thank God there is no one there right now, it is not inhabited, there are material damages,” he said.

It was also reported in the town of Xulha, in the municipality of Bacalar, that the structure of a bridge under construction, linked to the Mayan Train, collapsed.

Unofficial versions say that there were one or two injured, that They required transfer to Chetumal to receive medical attention.
