The company Le Gars du Lac posted a long message on its Facebook page to give news of the entrepreneurs.

“Since we have been inundated with messages for the past few hours, we would like to update you on the latest news concerning the state of health of Olivier Jean.

As many already know, Olivier suffered serious injuries in the fire. He was urgently transferred to the major burns unit of the CHUM in Montreal, where his condition is considered stable by the nursing staff. He still remains in intensive care at the moment, plunged into an artificial coma to relieve him of the pain.

It should also be added that his business partner Stéphane Gagnon, who was also on the scene at the time of the explosion, also suffered significant burns. Fortunately, his life was out of danger and he was closely watched by the burns team at the CHUL de Québec.

Obviously, it is still too early to make any diagnosis or prognosis for the future. One thing is certain, Olivier and Stéphane will need your moral support more than ever since their fight for recovery has only just begun.

While waiting for the return to better days, you can send them your encouragement under this post and we will be happy to share them with them at the appropriate time. Thank you all for your incredible support! Olivier Jean’s relatives

Relatives of the two victims launched a campaign to sociofinancement GoFundMe to raise funds to support their loved ones.

“We would like to collect donations to support two victims of the Sherbrooke CVA incident which took place on Wednesday March 23rd.

These two young fathers and entrepreneurs are currently hospitalized outside of Sherbrooke. We would like to ease the financial burden of these two young families.

All donations will be given to the immediate families of Olivier Jean and Stéphane Gagnon. Thank you very much”, can we read on the page.

Olivier Jean started his business by cooking the traditional dish at home before having his production premises at the CVA in January 2017.
