Explosion in Puebla leaves 2 dead, including an 11-year-old boy

This January 4, a powder magazine explosion was recorded in Puebla, which left as a preliminary balance two dead, including a minor, and 7 injured.

“I have issued instructions to the Interior, Civil Protection and emergency personnel so that all attention is given to the families affected by the explosion in Tepeyahualco”, Governor Sergio Salomón wrote on his Twitter account.

According to the authorities, one of the people who lost his life was an 11-year-old boy, identified as Christián Vázquez Reyes. The second deceased, 42 years old, was identified as Sergio Hernández.

The injured, where there are also minors and adolescents, were transferred to various hospitals in Puebla and Veracruz.

The explosion occurred due to an alleged mishandling of chemicals inside a fireworks workshop located in Techachalco, in the municipality of Tepeyahualco.
