Explosion in police station, one child died, 31 injured

District Police Officer (DPO) Haroon Rasheed of Swabi area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province said that a child was killed while 31 people were injured in an explosion in the warehouse of Jamarat city police station.

He said that the cases under trial in the police station are kept in the warehouse, in which the explosion occurred due to a short circuit.

Haroon Rasheed said that ‘a passer-by child died in the explosion and 31 people were injured, whose condition is out of danger.’

A building of three to four rooms inside the police station collapsed due to the explosion.

Swabi Police Spokesperson Liaquat Khan said that the injured were shifted to different hospitals.

Rescue 1122 spokesman Bilal Ahmad Faizi said that he had received information about the fire at the police station.

He said, ‘There is no information about the people under the debris so far but we are carefully removing the debris to ensure that there is no one under the debris.’

After the explosion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has directed the Provincial Police Chief (IG) and Chief Secretary to reach the spot.

In a statement issued from the Chief Minister’s House, it was stated that the Chief Minister has directed to provide all kinds of facilities to the injured while directing to submit the report of the explosion.
