This Tuesday morning, around 11 a.m., an explosion took place in the center of Spa. It was in a house on rue des Ecomines, at number 83, that a fire started, followed by an explosion.
The firefighters of the VHP zone intervened.
“The origin of the explosion is unknown. The fire is out,” announced the commander of the Verviers firefighters shortly before 11:30 a.m. The Spa ambulance and the SMUR from CHR Verviers also went to the site.
“Two people came out of the house on their own and are being taken care of by the doctor. We ignore the gravity, ”continued the firefighters.
From a good source, we are told that the fire started in the cellar. Flammable products were on site, hence the explosion. Windows were blown out. The couple living there were lightly injured with burns.
24 firefighters were called initially, but resources were quickly released. Around 11:20 a.m., only a pumper and a self-ladder were still on site.
