Rose Lamy lost her father very early. Too early. Of him, she only keeps a few memories and the story that was told to her, that of an honest man, always ready to help, loving his children. A good family man. But one day, his sister tells him that he was violent with their mother. And everything collapses. He was not a “monster” like those in the news stories. He was a man like the others, those who feed the statistics of domestic and intra-family violence. Therefore, the author of an already widely read essay, Undo sexist discourse in the media (Ed. JC Lattès, 2021), desecrates today in As good fathers (Ed. JC Lattès) a figure at odds with that of the monster in the collective imagination. A constructed figure which, conveniently, would minimize any responsibility of those involved.
