Morocco, through its rich and varied literature and arts, is in the spotlight at the 12th edition of the Kosmopolis Literature Festival, which opened Wednesday in Barcelona.
This new edition takes place from October 25 to 29. It is marked by the presence of renowned writers who participate in round tables and conferences, including the painter, sculptor and writer Mahi Binebine, who runs alongside the Spanish poet and translator, Manuel Forcanoa round table on “Morocco told through the romantic vision”.
This festival, organized twice a year, in October and March, is an opportunity to discover the latest global literary trends, meet writers and immerse yourself in the captivating world of books. This year is special. Moroccan literature and thought are in the spotlight.
The presence of Morocco at this high mass will also be enhanced by the intervention of the researcher and specialist in international migration, Chadia Araband the journalist Hicham Houdaifa. Their interventions take place under the theme “ Moroccan social reality« .
The founder of the Kulte contemporary art center, Yasmina Naji will also be present, as well as the young literary critic Kenza Sefrioui. Both will have to present an artistic portrait of Morocco.
For her part, the musician and singer Ikram Bouloum will offer an artistic journey across both shores of the Mediterranean in a sound format.
Place of convergence of artistic expressions
“Closer to us, we will cross the Mediterranean to go to Morocco, a place of convergence of artistic expressions and courageous voices that free speech. We will navigate shared imaginary worlds and welcome the clamor of those who write in search of freedom, unafraid to express themselves and reflect on the world,” reads a statement from the organizers. And added that “for five days full of energy and enthusiasm, we will attend dialogues, symposia, recitals, performances, installations, concerts and workshops. It will be a celebration in which literature will grow and resonate strongly.”
Also taking part in this event will be award-winning authors, poets, essayists and emerging writers. They come together to share their experience, their artistic vision and discuss contemporary literary issues.
Interactive activities, such as writing workshops, public readings and signing sessions are organized in the wake of the Kosmopolis Literature Festival, which aims to be a major meeting point between the general public and artists, writers and publishers from around the world. .
