Ras Al Khaimah (Al Etihad)
The Emirates Society for Social Development in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah organized an exploratory and cultural trip to the Musandam Straits, with the participation of 40 participants from community members of different ages and interests.
The trip featured enjoying the marine atmosphere on board a traditional dhow and watching the enchanting landscape of the Musandam Strait, including diverse coral reefs, colorful fish and migratory birds. The trip also included the opportunity to swim and snorkel in clear waters, and spot dolphins.
As part of the cultural program of the trip, engineer Fatima Al-Hantoubi, an environmental and sustainability expert, gave an awareness lecture on the danger of plastic waste to the marine environment.
Al-Hantoubi presented a comprehensive analysis of the impact of plastic waste on marine life and the marine environment in general, highlighting the damage that this waste can cause to marine organisms.
Khalaf Salem bin Anbar, Director General of the Emirates Society for Social Development, stressed the importance of preserving the environment, promoting the concept of sustainability in society, and encouraging individuals to adopt a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Hadeel Abdel Rahman, coordinator of the Youth Leadership and Sports Center at the Emirates Society for Social Development, pointed out the importance of these events in achieving the association’s goals of conveying the message of environmental awareness, enhancing the concept of sustainability in society, and enhancing effective community interaction in preserving the beauty and cleanliness of the marine environment.
