SHARJAH, 23rd June, WAM/ A delegation from the authorities of the government of Sarawak State, Malaysia, headed by the Honorable Dato’ Haji Kebli bin Haj Yassin, was briefed on the facilities of the Sharjah Academy for Space and Astronomy Science and Technology of the University of Sharjah, especially the space and astronomical exhibits that show the theories of the origin and evolution of the universe, and the space science laboratories, as well as Get acquainted with the latest developments in the development of the Sharjah Planetarium, which is equipped with the latest devices and technologies.
During the delegation’s visit to the Academy, Dr. Elias Fernini, Director of the Department of Space Sciences, gave an introductory overview of the programs of the Academy’s departments and its pioneering achievements at the local and international levels, and its most prominent strategic plans and future projects that it is working on. It is held continuously by various departments, in addition to international participation in conferences and seminars.
For his part, Professor Marwan Shweiki, Director General of Planetarium Affairs and Scientific Exhibitions, stressed the importance of keeping pace with scientific and technical progress in the field of planetariums around the world. Therefore, the Academy is keen to receive local and international institutions and agencies to be a scientific, research and tourism destination for various segments of society.
