Team Nissan Formula E drivers Norman Nato and Sacha Fenestraz have been teaching children the wonderful world of electric vehicles in Nissan’s exciting new EV School series.

With the next generation of drivers poised for electric driving, the dynamic duo explain how the technology created by Nissan for its Formula E cars will look like in the road vehicles of the future.

During the series, the drivers were also questioned by a group of children regarding their own experiences behind the wheel, as well as their views on electric vehicles, before putting the youngsters through their paces in mini electric Nissan Ariyas.

The drivers then held a class discussion regarding what Formula E would look like in the future, in which the children predicted that racing cars would float, go twice as fast and be so safe that anyone might drive them (watch the video here).

The launch of the series follows the publication of the results of global One Poll research, in which 6,000 children around the world, aged 6-10, were asked what they think motorsport will be like in 2043. The results revealed that the racing cars of the future will be able to fly, change color and drive just as fast on snow or ice. On the other hand, 76% of young people believe that robots will dominate the world and will end up replacing pilots behind the wheel.

Norman Nato: “It is important to teach children regarding the future and how they will drive electric vehicles when they grow up. Everything we develop in our Formula E cars is designed to have a better tomorrow. We work hard to create the technology that will be available in the models electric road cars and it’s exciting for me to be at the forefront of innovation.”

Sacha Fenestraz: “The future of Formula E is going to be extremely exciting and it’s great to hear what the next generation of drivers think it will be. I don’t know what will happen in the next 20 or 30 years, maybe we can race in flying cars, but I hope! let robot pilots not replace us!”
