However, thanks to the province’s constant stimulus policies, the socio-economic situation recovered in September. Many sectors performed better than in August, helping to improve the overall results for the first nine months of the year: merchandise retail turnover (+11.19%); that of accommodation-catering, travel and other services (+12.40%); that of transport services (+28.33%).

During the recent conference on the socio-economic situation, Chairman of the Tây Ninh People’s Committee, Nguyên Thanh Ngoc, estimated that despite many difficulties, growth in the 3rd quarter of 2023 was 7.21%. On average over nine months in 2023, it was 5.35%, a rate higher than the national average (4.24%).

In the Southeast region, Tây Ninh ranks 2nd out of six provinces and cities (behind Binh Phuoc). The province’s gross domestic product during this period was 42,651 billion doong, an increase of 5.35%.

In particular, it is necessary to realize as quickly as possible the direction of regional development in accordance with Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW on socio-economic development; to guarantee defense and security in the South-East region until 2030, with a vision for 2045.

Border tourism and economy

Tourism is one of the strengths of Tây Ninh’s economy.

For Tây Ninh, tourism is considered a positive point. In 2022, around 4.5 million visitors were counted, worth 1.4 trillion VND.

This result made Tây Ninh one of the southern provinces with the highest tourism growth following the COVID-19 pandemic. Note that during the first six months of 2023, while the growth of the industrial-construction sector slowed down, the services and commerce sector continued to record very good growth, contributing to 32.07% of GDP. Province. Tourism activities generated nearly 1.45 trillion dong, an increase of 71% in one year.

According to the People’s Committee of the province, the tourism sector has made many contributions to socio-economic development. It stimulated economic restructuring in a positive direction, helping to increase budget revenues, create jobs, develop cities and countryside. In particular, some strategic investors such as Sun Group, Vingroup… have built world-class tourism projects creating a great improvement in terms of tourism offering. Tây Ninh has all the potential to develop almost all types of tourism – cultural, ecological, leisure, spiritual, scientific research.

On this basis, the provincial leaders also asked the units to prepare well for the end-of-year holidays, as well as the 2024 Ba Den Mountain Spring Festival. Short-term tourism in Tay Ninh will be a choice reasonable for the last months of this year because the national economy is still struggling and people will travel abroad less than before.
