THIS year is a special year for Indonesian Mini 4WD lovers because this mini car racing has officially become a sport at the 21st National Sports Week (PON) 2024 exhibition in Aceh and North Sumatra.

“Thanks to the hard work of all our friends at the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Mini 4WD Commission, this year we have succeeded in entering the 2024 PON XXI exhibition. Currently, Mini 4WD players have officially become athletes because they have officially become a sport,” said the Chairman of the Mini 4WD Commission, Hendra Lusmana to Indonesian MediaThursday (5/9).

The PON Mini 4WD exhibition competition will be held at Focal Point Mall, Medan, North Sumatra on September 10-11, 2024 starting from 09.00 until finished.

Hendra explained that there are two classes being held, namely the Indonesian Open Class (IOC) and the Indonesian Damper Class (IDC. So far, he continued, there have been 19 provinces that have completed the requirements to become participants in the upcoming PON exhibition.

“There are 3 (provinces) that are waiting for recommendations from the IMI center in their respective regions,” he said.

The names of Mini 4WD athletes based on the class they will participate in have been carried out through selection and recommendations from the provincial IMI which will then become a reference for the central IMI to make a decree (SK) listing the names of the athletes.
