We are in a fairly privileged place, which is why we have a 65% increase in the tourist tax. It benefits the Community of Communes but we have repercussions on Mosnes. This represents 21,700 euros, it is not negligible. It must be said that there is a lot of traffic here, 4,000 vehicles/day, there is an attraction for the village with the Loire à Vélo, in addition we have a few shops such as the Bar-tabac, the grocery store and even a salon hairstyle, it’s a little more compared to other villages of the same size“.
Many owners have invested in making rentals
For thirteen years, the winemaker Xavier Frissant has offered two gîtes for seasonal rental. According to him, business isn’t what it used to be : “It works less well than ten years ago, I admit that many owners in Mosnes have invested in rental, but I think that all rental companies find their account there and for me as a winegrower it is also potential customers“.
