In its recent report on electronic banking activity in Morocco, the Center thus reports 8,154 ATMs, i.e. an extension of the ATM network of -0.1% compared to the end of December 2022.
The best equipped cities are Casablanca with 1,608 ATMs, Marrakech with 703 ATMs, Rabat with 675 ATMs, Tangier with 495 ATMs, Agadir with 451 ATMs and Fez with 410 ATMs, specifies the CMI.
During the first quarter of the year, the ATM network carried out 96.6 million withdrawals made by Moroccan and foreign bank cards, up 10.8%, for a total amount of 96.1 billion dirhams (MMDH ), up 13.8%, representing an average monthly activity of 4,823 withdrawal operations for a total amount of 4.7 million dirhams (MDH) for each ATM.
The ratio of the number of cards issued in Morocco per ATM, defined by the ratio of outstanding Moroccan bank cards to the number of ATMs installed, stands at 2,356 at the end of March 2023.
