Medical Park Hospital Group, the captain of Turkish healthcare. The Turkish hospital group MLP Care Healthcare Group has thirty centers distributed throughout Turkey and provides hospital and home care services. The company has 5,240 beds, more than 16,000 employees and treats around ten million patients each year.
The hospital group, distributed throughout a large part of the country, has six hospital centers in the capital. The company has three hospital brands: Medical Park Hospitals, with sixteen centers; VM Medical Park, add eight centers; and Liv Hospitals, with six establishments.
The focus of the group of private hospitals is to provide health care to all sectors of the population and in all areas. The company treats a wide range of medical specialties, including organ transplants, cancer treatments, cosmetic surgery or fertility treatments, among others.
The listed company was founded in 1993 by Muharrem Usta, who still chairs the company, with the first clinic in the Sultangazi district of Istanbul. In 1995, the company launched the first hospital facility under the name of Medical Park Fatih Hospital.
Medical Park Hospital Group has an annual volume of ten million patients
It was not until 2006 when its expansion began in Turkish territory with the opening of the Medical Park Bursa Hospital, in the northwest of the country. In that year, 30% of the company’s shares were acquired by the Sancak family, owners of the communication group Star Media. In 2007, the company began its growth by opening new hospital facilities in Tokat, located in the central Black Sea region, and Bahçelievler, in a residential district of Istanbul.
Between 2008 and 2011, the company deployed its Trojan horse with the opening of twelve new hospital centers in different parts of the country, exceeding 10,000 workers and allowing the care of international patients in its hospitals. In 2009, the group sold 40% of its shares to the fund manager Carlyle Group. In 2011, Medical Park Hospital purchased the Anadolu Hospital group.
In 2013, Carlyle sold his Medical Park shares to the US investment fund Texas Pacific Group.. The hospital group was acquired by Turkven Private Equity in 2014 for an undisclosed amount.
In the last decade the group has continued to grow with the start-up of more than ten hospitals throughout the countryin addition to reaching an annual volume of ten million patients and creating a home care service under the name Medical Park Evde.
The 2021 data from the MLP Care group highlight a year-on-year rise in billing of 44.4%, up to 5,800 million Turkish lira (269.3 million euros), compared to 4,000 million lire (185.8 million euros). The company’s profit in 2021 stood at 355 million liras (16.5 million euros), compared to 123,000 million liras (5.7 million euros) in 2020, representing a year-on-year increase of 188%. .
