On July 23, 2023, the “National Automuseum The Loh Collection” will open in Dietzholztal-Ewersbach. Among the approximately 150 vehicles since 1886 are numerous unique pieces, prototypes and highlights of automotive history – from Kennedy’s Lincoln Continental to a Bugatti Type 57 Atalante to Michael Schumacher’s first world championship Ferrari and the only record-breaking vehicle built, the Maybach Exelero.

Thanks to its scope and excellent curation, the museum will even be of particular importance for research and teaching. The “University Campus National Automuseum of the Faculty of Economics and Law of the University of Economics and Environment Nürtingen-Geislingen” will already start its work at the opening. The lectures and live demonstrations are led by Prof. Jochen Buck, the leading expert on accident research in Germany. The museum offers a variety of educational opportunities for schools and universities that are unparalleled in Germany. This also includes the so-called “history workshop”, which brings visitors closer to the industrial history of the Lahn-Dill district and will inspire many young people to do technical training.

Regular special exhibitions are already being planned. The exhibition “100 Years of Le Mans 24h” will kick off with more than 20 original racing cars from 1928 to the present day – a spectacular show that has rarely been seen in Europe.

The halls, which are modern on the outside, present the charm of originally preserved historical industrial buildings on an area of 7,500 square meters. A steep curve with the icons of automotive history is an eye-catcher. Behind it, an oversized type case stages almost 30 sports and racing cars. The National Automuseum also has a large collection of engines, cutaway models and technical exhibits – from steam engines to electric car platforms.
