Sergio Perez (Red Bull) explained that he was tossed by red flags following qualifying for the British GP, the 11th round of F1, where he was eliminated from Q1 in 16th place and missed the top 10 for five consecutive races, but the 2009 F1 World The champion had a different view.
With 3 minutes and 11 seconds remaining in Q1, the red flag was waved due to Kevin Magnussen’s (Haas) machine stop. Red Bull put Perez on new softs and sent him to the pit lane faster than anyone else.

Due to the time it took to retrieve the car, Perez had to wait at the front of the pit lane for nearly nine minutes. Of course, the tires were completely cold, and I had to run out laps and flying laps on the greasy road surface, which I’m not good at.
“There were more red flags than we originally thought, so we waited a lot longer. We were a little out of luck,” Perez recalled.
“I wasn’t able to put enough heat into the tyres, and these kinds of conditions are the ones I’ve struggled with the most with this car lately.”
“My problems with the car are much more apparent in these conditions. It’s an issue that we as a team have to figure out.”
Perez blamed red flags for the loss, but Sky Sports commentator Jenson Button disagrees.
“It wasn’t bad luck, he didn’t lap before the red flag and following the red flag I think we made a mistake as a team. The last one is usually the fastest.”
“It was a bad strategic decision, but also because the Czechs didn’t do the previous lap and didn’t put pressure on the team.”
The red flag was waved just following Perez, who was in 14th place at the time, ended his flying lap midway and entered the pits.
Second-placed Perez will start Sunday’s race from 15th on the grid following the disqualification of Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo).
“I felt good yesterday and I want to change my mind for tomorrow’s race to try to score as many points as possible. It will be difficult to run up the field but I will do my best,” added Perez.
Christian Horner, team representative, said, “The qualifying ended in a difficult result, but the Czechs should do well in tomorrow’s race.”
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) won the pole position in the 2023 F1 British GP qualifying. Lando Norris was 2nd and Oscar Piastri was 3rd.
The final race will start the formation lap at 23:00 on Sunday, July 9, Japan time, and will compete for the championship by completing 52 laps of the 5,891m Silverstone circuit.the pattern of the laceDAZNandFuji TV NEXTIt will be delivered live and broadcast live.
