The Command of the Third Division of the National Army announced that an artillery exercise that left five soldiers injured, took place at the facilities of the Instruction, Training and Retraining Battalion No. 29, Twenty-ninth Brigade (Biter 29), in the Cauca.
The incident occurred in the municipality of Patía, Cauca, while soldiers were conducting a shooting training exercise and testing of artillery systems, in which a failure would have occurred when firing a grenade.

As it became known, the failure occurred exactly in a 155mm Howitzer artillery piece, when during a training shooting exercise and test of the artillery system, when the first grenade was fired, the piece failed, which caused an explosion in the weapons.
