A new study revealed that a popular hot drink preferred by millions of people around the world prevents the risk of diabetes.

And the study published in the Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that one cup of coffee protects the chances of developing type 2 diabetes.

Coffee plays an important role in reducing inflammation in the body, and diabetes is the second type of chronic inflammatory disease that cannot be cured, but rather prevented.

The study included data from more than 150,000 people, and the link between regular coffee consumption and diabetes risk was measured.

It was found that drinking a cup of coffee per day was associated with a 4-6% reduction in the chances of developing type 2 diabetes.

“Coffee is one of the most popular beverages around the world, and it has clear health effects that have been confirmed by scientific research,” said Dr. Trudy Wortman, lead researcher.

He added: “Previous studies have linked frequent coffee consumption with a reduced risk of developing diabetes, but they did not clarify the mechanism that leads to this occurrence.”

He continued: “The current research shows that coffee is associated with a difference in the rate of inflammatory markers in the body, and we know very well that type 2 diabetes is an inflammatory disease, which is one of the mechanisms behind the relationship of coffee with diabetes prevention.”

He concluded: “The results of our study may encourage future research to examine the effects of coffee on other chronic diseases associated with the occurrence of inflammation in the body.”
