There’s no need to leave out the milk and cookies at the Westgate because Santa’s presence can be felt year-round in your new themed suite.
The historic off-Strip property debuted a holiday suite last Friday and has already had guests stay there.
“We know a lot of people love Christmas, but we had no idea how many people would celebrate Christmas year-round if they might,” said Gordon Prouty, vice president of public relations for Westgate.
The room is one of 11 themed suites, also known as high roller suites. Prouty explained that the concept is inspired by the hotel’s roots. When it was first built as the International Hotel in 1969, the hotel’s floors had different decorations representing countries from around the world.
Today, the themes of high-roller suites are inspired by travel, such as the Gold Coast, the Mediterranean and Santa Fe, while others have a different sense of place, such as the Room (think “50 Shades of Gray “) and the Country Club suite. The Christmas theme was chosen in a contest among employees.
“It’s a great way to offer guests unique, luxurious and themed experiences,” says Prouty. “It is something we are proud of and we are going to expand them.”
Guests in themed suites tend to be high rollers, celebrities and other honored guests, he said. However, anyone interested can book themed stays, including the Christmas suite, just don’t expect Santa Claus to check it off your wish list.
