Nature enthusiasts and animal lovers in Minnesota are in for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Minnesota Zoo, located in Apple Valley, regarding 20 miles south of Minneapolis, has officially opened its trail Treetop Trailwhich at 1.25 miles is the longest elevated pedestrian loop in the world.
Perched more than 32 feet high, the attraction allows visitors to walk among the trees and gain new perspectives on some of the zoo’s animals, such as tigers, moose, bison and camels, among others, according to a statement.
The trail is open year-round so visitors can enjoy Minnesota’s four seasons, offering access to hardwood forests, ponds, wetlands, and diverse wildlife.
According to the zoo’s website, it is an “elevated experience” and attraction that “is a continuous, wraparound green space that takes guests up to a height of 32 feet, reaching into the treetops, offering a breathtaking view.” of the zoo and the animals below.”
“In addition to creating a sense of wonder and wonder, it connects visitors with nature and inspires action to save wildlife in Minnesota and around the world,” they explain on the website.
Although it is open to all zoo visitors, the trail can be especially appealing to bird watchers. A total of 22 viewpoints have been built along the path that offer extraordinary views.
The zoo calls the trail the “ultimate reuse construction project” as it was integrated into the zoo’s original monorail track, which had been open for decades but was removed in 2019.
