All Saints’ Day, Halloween, Day of the Dead… The period is full of traditions! For the “deadly” autumn holidays, the MuséoParc Alésia has unveiled its program from Saturday October 21 to Sunday November 5.
Things are moving around Alésia! The MuséoParc has planned a whole series of activities for the All Saints’ Day holidays. Young and old will be able to spend cultural and fun moments there.
Become an investigator of antiquity
Archaeologists have discovered the remains of a human body almost 2000 years old, hastily deposited in the heart of Alésia. Surprising since such a vestige of Roman times should be found outside the city. What happened ? Through this archaeological Cluedo, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. every day, help archaeologists discover the truth!
15 minutes to understand everything!
Every day, the Alésia Museum will offer you several 15-minute workshops to understand the relationship to the death of the Gallo-Romans. Weapons used, banquets, animal sacrifices, offerings… You will know everything, including in connection with the temporary exhibition Alix, on funeral rites in the Middle East and in the Mediterranean basin.
Discover Egyptian and Gallo-Roman crafts
Skillful with your hands, or simply curious, you will be able to work with the material, like an ancient craftsman. From October 23 to 27, you will have the opportunity to make a replica of the Egyptian “Game of Passage”. From October 30 to November 3, visual artist Adeline Piovoso will teach you how to use clay and metal to make your “ex-voto”, that is to say a Gallo-Roman offering!
Alésia, it’s Halloween!
What is hidden in the forbidden places of Alésia? Come find out by visiting the MuséoParc at night by flashlight, Tuesday October 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The same day, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., the museum will broadcast the film concert Ghosts from the Caravan Label (2020), composed of five short films.
To note that other fantastic animated films will be screened during these two weeks :
Coco by Lee Unkrich and Adrian Molina (2017), October 24 at 4 p.m.
Frankeenwie by Tim Burton (2012), October 26 at 4 p.m.
The Addams Family by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan (2019), November 2 at 4 p.m.
