More than two dozen life-size dinosaurs take over the Bell Center this weekend as the show comes to town Jurassic World Live.
Triceratops, velociraptors, stegosaurus and, of course, an imposing – and menacing – tyrannosaur more than 12 meters long will roam the floor of the amphitheater from this evening. Nine species of dinosaurs are featured in this new, original adventure, but part of the same line as those put forward in the famous cinematographic saga.
We will therefore be transported to Isla Nublar, a jungle where humans and dinosaurs live together in a surprisingly harmonious way. But this balance will be threatened by the arrival of Kurt Reed, a soldier determined to sow chaos in this Jurassic world with the help of his troop of mercenaries.
“It’s a big show: two dozen dinosaurs, pyrotechnic effects, high-caliber stunts, visual effects, motorcycle chases… Plus, it’s very interactive. People will really have the impression of being part of the action, ”sums up the American Shane Cervantes, interpreter of Kurt Reed.
A “surreal” encounter
The actor does not hide it, he experienced a “surreal” situation when he found himself face to face with the imposing tyrannosaurus of the show for the first time by joining the troupe of Jurassic World Livelast spring.
“Growing up, my biggest wish was to play in one of the films of the series of jurassic park. And today, I spend my weekends playing with life-size dinosaurs…and I get paid to do it! [rires] It’s more beautiful than in my wildest dreams,” he says enthusiastically.
And it seems that this enthusiasm is contagious. According to Shane Cervantes, the artists of Jurassic World Live when they come on stage; the youngest are impressed by the mechanics of Jurassic World Livewhile the nostalgia effect blows the greatest.
“I’m the antagonist of the show, so I get boos more than cheers. But I love it! It shows that my character makes people react. And we all love to hate a bad guy, right? advances the actor.
It should be noted that all the dialogues of the show are pre-recorded. The actors performing on stage are therefore lipsyncing to this soundtrack, which will allow Quebecers to attend the rare French-language performances of the show. These will be given alternately with those offered in the original English version.
The show Jurassic World Live is presented at the Bell Center in Montreal until Sunday. The tour will then take place at the Videotron Center in Quebec City from September 28 to 1is october.
