On the outskirts of Espoo, a satellite city of Helsinki, in the yard of a private house in good weather, you can see an absolutely original 1998 Jordan 198 car. The bright yellow-black-red color scheme attracts the attention of passers-by, and many simply stop because they can hardly believe their eyes – how is this possible?

It turns out that it is quite possible – moreover, for a very reasonable fee, this beauty can be rented to you. However, everything is in order.

The car is in the garage of the home of Finnish entrepreneur and Formula 1 aficionado Toni Svartsjo, and there are many other motorsport-related memorabilia in the garage. But of course the Jordan 198 is the highlight of his collection, even though the car is no longer his but Saunarekka’s, but Tony was the previous owner and he’s allowed to keep it.

Sometimes the car is exhibited as a show car at some events, but most often it is in the garage of Svartsjo’s house or just stands in his yard.

“One day, a man passed by several times a day, following which he finally turned to me and said:“ Sorry for the intrusion, but I thought that since you are now in your yard, I might show this car to my daughter,” Tony told the Helsinki newspaper Ilta-Sanomat. “And then this family brought their little daughter here, who is crazy regarding Formula 1 and is a fan of Lando Norris.

Moreover, she was brought to our yard blindfolded, and when the bandage was removed, and the girl saw the car, she simply burst into tears of joy!”

But if someone wants to rent a car for a while to impress friends, then this can be done for as little as 500 euros per month. There is only one condition: although the car is in good technical condition, it is forbidden to start and drive it.

Svartsjo bought the car from Sweden in 2011 and the previous owner bought it directly from Team Jordan. Tony needed it for purposes in order to actively promote his business, which consisted in the fact that he was organizing private tests for everyone, and they got the opportunity to pilot race cars on various European tracks.

This Jordan 198 has never competed in a Grand Prix, but has been used for demos and exhibitions. But technically, it is identical to the cars the team used in the 1998 season, except that the engine is newer and the livery is already in the early 2000s.

According to Svartsjo, the car is for sale, and they ask for 80 thousand euros for it – the price also includes a trailer for transporting it.
