We do not know the date of its appearance, but the oldest written traces attesting to its existence date back to the thirteenth century, at the time of the Kingdom of Navarre. The Garris Fair is the oldest in the Southwest. It will welcome the public on July 31 and August 1.

Tradition will obviously be respected, with a day devoted to horses on the first day and cattle on the second. The meeting is also intended to be family-friendly and open to the general public, with new features. On July 31, an equestrian initiation for adults, country dancing, a street show and an equestrian show by the Linagua d’Urcuit stables are on the program.

On August 1, the Bakea equestrian center, in Luxe-Sumberraute, will offer carriage rides, and during the two days, the Zaldi Xuri center, in Saint-Palais, will offer children pony initiation. Expo-sale of agricultural equipment and used or new cars are also part of the decor. And with the possibility of dining on site, there will be something for everyone.
