The National Astronomical Research Institute NARIT invites you to join the stargazing festival to welcome the winter breeze 2023 – 2024, starting on the first day on November 3rd. It is a tradition that every winter National Astronomical Research Institute NARIT must have a stargazing festival because the clear sky and cool air are the most suitable for stargazing, and of course #NARIT is full of stargazing activities during this time. This year is very special in that we have a new observatory in #Khon Kaen joining us. Anyone who lives in Khon Kaen or travels to Isaan during the activity period can mark the day for astronomy activities. That will happen throughout the winter 1. Opening the stargazing festival to welcome the cold breeze on the night Jupiter is closest to Earth of the year, Friday, November 3, 2023 from 6:00-10:00 p.m. The first stargazing activity of this winter. Comes with a phenomenon “Jupiter is closest to Earth in the year.” Look at Jupiter through a telescope. See the beauty of the cloud belt, the Great Red Spot, and the moon, along with listening to a Special Talk revealing the activities and interesting astronomical phenomena that will occur throughout the festival. Participate for free. There is no cost. 2. Geminids meteor shower, night 14 – morning 15 December 2023, begin viewing the phenomenon at 8:00 p.m. onwards until dawn. The highest rate of falling is approximately 120-150 stars/hour. Come join us in counting the meteor shower. and view celestial objects through a telescope at the Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province, and the 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary Observatory, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chachoengsao, Songkhla, and Khon Kaen. Participation is free. There is no charge. 3. Starry Night over Bangkok, look at the stars in the middle of the city, Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Benjakitti Park, Bangkok. Experience stargazing and viewing celestial objects through a telescope in the heart of Bangkok. Find the stars hidden among the skyscrapers. Learn basic stargazing through a smartphone application with a professional stargazer. Ready to collect pictures of the moon through your smartphone from various types of telescopes. Join for free.
