Not only CD Projekt RED is experimenting with The Witcher 3. Various enthusiasts are also willing to try their hand.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt recently received patch 4.03, which traditionally broke the game. But the game lives not only with CD Projekt RED patches.

Modder Stellar7Project presented an interesting project that adds post-COVID syndrome to The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. The mod was created for the Long COVID Europe project, which aims to raise awareness of the post-COVID syndrome.

With Long COVID mode, four stages of symptom development appear in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Fatigue (1), Exhaustion (2), Myalgia (3; muscle pain), PEM (4; post-exercise exhaustion).

As the stage increases, symptoms worsen, for example, stamina is spent faster and takes longer to recover. With myalgia, a gradual decline in health begins.

With each stage, it will become more difficult to hold your breath underwater (with PEM, consumption is 4 times faster). If you spend all your stamina, the game will “punish” with a flash of bright light (there will be several of them in later stages) and stun Geralt for 1-2 seconds.

Starting with exhaustion (2), Geralt will have indigestion. This means that food will take away rather than restore health.

With myalgia (3) witcher’s flair “clouded”, on PEM (4) it turns off, and the accuracy of shooting and throwing bombs also drops.

In the later stages, during meditation, the hero loses track of time, i.e. he will finish before/after the set time and remain exhausted.

At PEM (4), the hero becomes a shambles: every time the inventory is opened, a random item will drop out.

Modification Long COVID Mode available on Nexus Mods link. Geralt cannot be cured, but Tawny Owl (elixir Why?), and normal rest will work in the early stages.
