Expectations are rising in Bolivia over the new regional connection and integration that the Bioceanic Bridge will provide

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Bolivian magazine Tarija Economía – in its June issue No. 270 – highlights the importance of the construction of the Bioceanic Bridge, ensuring that Bolivia will be part of the Capricorn bioceanic corridor. This corridor, promoted by Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Brazil, seeks to unite the Pacific and Atlantic oceans for commercial and tourist purposes. It also mentions the progress in the construction of the bridge, with about 55% completed and its completion expected in 2024.

According to the Bolivian media, the inclusion of the neighboring country in this project was made concrete during the V Forum of Subnational Territories from June 19 to 21 in the city of Filadelfia, department of Boquerón, with the participation of more than 700 people.

The Bolivian magazine also highlights what was stated by the Minister of Public Works and Communications, Claudia Centurión, during the forum, that President Santiago Peña firmly supported the project during his administration at the Ministry of Finance, with the order that the corridor will be built because it has a geopolitical strategy and that Paraguay will develop through this corridor, she added.

The Bolivian magazine also mentions that the president of the Committee for the Pro Interests of Tarija, Jesús Gira, and the Regional Executive of Villa Montes, Karen Sánchez, managed at said event the inclusion of Bolivia in the Capricorn bioceanic corridor. “We included Bolivia in this forum, which is invited, will be invited in the next one and will also be treated to enter, thus we are expanding our forum,” said the governor of Boquerón, Harold Bergen.

Bergen highlighted the progress in the consolidation of the bioceanic corridor and the need to prepare for the conclusion of the project. During the forum, Gira presented letters signed by Governor Oscar Montes and Mayor Johnny Torres, who supported Bolivia’s request for incorporation.
