Good news as the holidays approach. The Minister Delegate in charge of Digital, Jean-Noël Barrot, announces the expansion of aid to access very high speed to 7 million households not eligible for fiber, in an interview published in the Tribune Dimanche.
Since 2019, nearly “142,000 homes» located in rural areas have already benefited from aid which “goes up to 300 euros, even 600 euros» for the most modest, for the acquisition of necessary equipment (dish, for example) for those who do not yet have the possibility of accessing fiber, underlines Jean-Noël Barrot. He adds that he “decided to extend it to the entire national territory, and to the 7 million households which are not yet eligible for fiber».
This “strong measure in the service of regional planning» sera «effective at the beginning of next year». “This is one more step towards the right to very high speed for all. In total, 20 million euros are dedicated to extending this installation aid», he concludes.
