There are high possibilities that, from the next school year, which will begin in August, the educational offer of the State University of Sonora (UES) will be expanded with the beginning of the Medicine career, reported Armando Moreno Soto.
The rector of said higher level institution indicated that an agreement was signed with the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP), to replicate a general and community medicine program.
“The objective would be to cover medicine, but especially in rural areas, in areas where there are a lot of doctors, which we all know, but normally doctors, due to the profile that is chosen, for example, very high averages, because generally people who are going to stay in the cities, and who are going to continue the specialty later ”,
If a permit that is in process is resolved, Moreno Soto said that the first generation of the Medicine career, from the UES, would start with a group of around 35 students.
He added that, as part of the short-term projects, it is also planned to open a specialty that is related to the care of archives, since despite the fact that there is a state law on the matter, there are no trained personnel in the management and file care.
