Probably, the company is going to be engaged not only in video games. “id”:1902460,”type”:”num”,”link”:”https://dtf.ru/gameindustry/1902460-electronic-arts-obyavila-o-restrukturizacii-vnutrennie-studii- razdelyat-na-ea-entertainment-i-ea-sports”,”gtm”:””,”prevCount”:null,”count”:48,”isAuthorized”:false “id”:1902460,”type” :1,”typeStr”:”content”,”showTitle”:false,”initialState”:”isActive”:false,”gtm”:”” “id”:1902460,”gtm”:null 4541 views On the reshuffle in the management and reorganization of internal studios EA announced CEO Andrew Wilson in an address to employees. According to him, the changes should help “expand the creative possibilities” of the teams working under the wing of the publisher. There will be no global changes in the structure of the company, however, EA Games and EA SPORTS labels will become two relatively independent organizations with their own leaders. At the same time, EA Games will be called EA Entertainment, which probably means that the company plans to expand its field of activity and do something other than video games. Major changes in the restructuring of EA Laura Miley, who previously served as COO of Electronic Arts, will become President of EA Entertainment. The head of EA SPORTS will still be Cam Weber, however, like Mili, he will receive expanded powers. The two executives will be able to make more decisions regarding the plans for the development of each of the labels, as well as the allocation of budgets. They will report directly to Andrew Wilson. Vince Zampella, head of Respawn and the Battlefield brand, as well as Samantha Ryan, head of BioWare, Maxis, Motive and Full Circle, will retain their positions within EA Entertainment. They will probably also get more autonomy in their actions. EA will leave two top managers – Chris Brazzo, director of Experiences (PR, marketing and social elements in games), and Chris Su, chief financial officer. Their posts will go to David Tinson and Stuart Canfield, respectively. In the near future, Laura Miley and Cam Weber, along with other senior executives, will actively work with the heads of the studios under them to plan the future strategy for the two organizations within the publishing house. As Andrew Wilson assured, things are going well for EA, and he is optimistic regarding the future. Apparently, the decision to divide the company is due precisely to the desire to further separate the publisher’s sports games from all the others. It is possible that the development of MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic will be transferred to a third-party company in preparation for the reshuffle in Electronic Arts. IGN: EA will outsource SWTOR to a third-party studio, while BioWare will focus entirely on Dragon Age and Mass Effect
