No fear in the stomach for Capcom! The first publisher to step onto the Sony State of Play stage, Capcom showed off a whole new franchise: it’s called Exoprimal and offers players the chance to push back dinosaurs in a futuristic universe.

Surprise! While we waited on deck with the presentation of next-gen versions of Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 3, Capcom struck well elsewhere. The Japanese publisher (whose mysterious Pragmata is on the way) opened the State of Play festival on March 09 by announcing a brand new franchise: Exoprimal. The game’s trailer mixed gameplay footage and presentation of the title for more than two minutes. In the program ? Exoprimal sets its scene in a futuristic city being invaded from all sides by dinosaurs: triceratops and even tyrannosaurs, the species that disappeared 65 million years ago is making a resounding return to Earth.
To repel them, the players will embody species of warriors with the arsenal more than threatening. Sabers, turrets, shields… A kind of squad is presented to the players, which is housed in the Aibius ship. For unknown reasons, she must descend on the planet plagued by reptilian invasions.
Futuristic beat’em up with dinosaurs
During this trailer, we can deduce that several roles / classes will be available since we see during this trailer some gameplay sequences where various characters are present. Exoprimal will be cooperative with competitive matches: two teams of five will compete, and the last to survive will win the game. Several roles are presented for each squad member: one attacks from a distance, the other attacks melee while a third absorbs the damage with a large shield. A healer is also present. It is thanks to exoskeletons, directed by the artificial intelligence Leviathan, that the players are able to match the dinosaurs. Or not, as the trailer proves.
With Exoprimal, the invasion is expected on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2023 on an as yet unspecified date.
