As a result of the ’20th Presidential Election Joint Exit Survey’ by the three terrestrial broadcasters (KBS, MBC, SBS) and the comprehensive programming channel JTBC, it was found that the expected turnout for the Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung and the People’s Power presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol was extremely low.

According to the results of a joint exit poll for the 20th presidential election by the three terrestrial broadcasters at 7:30 pm on the 9th, candidate Lee was counted with 47.8% and candidate Yoon 48.4%.

According to JTBC’s exit poll released at the same time on the same day, Candidate Lee recorded 48.4% and Candidate Yoon 47.7%.

In both surveys, the difference between the expected turnout between Candidate Lee and Candidate Yoon was less than 1%.

However, the exit polls of these broadcasters did not reflect the pre-voting, which recorded an all-time high (36.93%), and the votes for confirmed and quarantined persons conducted following 6 pm on the same day.

However, instead of direct exit polls for early voting, broadcasters made corrections by reflecting the data of early voting participants and the trend of opinion polls conducted before voting.
