Comedian Kim Min-kyung (41) reveals the process of being selected as the national shooting team.
IHQ online video service (OTT) Babayo on the 16th at 12:00 noon on the 132nd episode of the web entertainment ‘Jungdongdung’, which depicts the process of Kim Min-kyung’s selection for the International Practical Shooting Joint (IPSC) national team in May. Kim Min-kyung and the production team set the goal of selecting the national team after releasing the shooting version in July of last year. Afterwards, he practiced in Hoengseong, Gangwon-do and Hanam, Gyeonggi-do, and passed the selection in about a year.
Kim Min-kyung said she was “trembling” as she entered the shooting range, but when she grabbed the gun, she showed excellent skills. He passed the first stage gun handling moving test and the second stage pivot shooting test (2 hits within 2.5 seconds) without problems. In particular, shooting tests in which shooting was performed while standing, sitting, and lying down were performed more than 10 seconds faster than the standard (25 seconds). Kim Min-kyung hit the target with a stable posture even in the final D stage, where she moved and shot through her wire net. IPSC Director Kim Joon-gi and Instructor Na Hong-jin praised the shooting, saying, “The shooting was smooth and stable.” Minkyung Kim said she “burned it so white that she can’t even remember how she did it.”
On June 30, a month after the selection, I received a selection notice with the final results. Kim Min-gyeong was nervous, saying, “It was cold when I entered (the shooting range), but why is it so hot now?” He is scheduled to participate as a national representative in the ‘2022 IPSC Handgun World Shoot’ held in Thailand from the 19th.
