“Exemplary punishment, no discounts” –

His name is Moussa Sangare, an Italian of Moroccan origins born in 1994, the 31-year-old arrested for being the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Sharon Verzeni, which occurred on the night between July 29 and 30 in Terno d’Isola, in the Bergamo area. The attack apparently occurred without any apparent motive. After the news of the arrest emerged, the comment of the deputy prime minister and leader of the League Matteo Salvini arrived on Facebook: “Moussa Sangare, of North African origins and Italian citizenship, arrested, suspected of having murdered poor Sharon. I hope that clarity will be shed as soon as possible and, in case of guilt, an exemplary sentence, without discounts. Congratulations to the Carabinieri!”.

After the words on social media of the number one of the Ministry of Infrastructure, the response of Luana Zanella, leader of AVS in the Chamber of Deputies, arrived: “Obviously Matteo Salvini has already sentenced Moussa Sangare’s guilt, asking for an exemplary punishment, that is, an enhanced one? What is horrible in his post is the attempt to accredit an ethnic origin of femicide. This is unacceptable because it totally and culpably denies the transversality of a phenomenon that does not concern social classes, skin color, state borders and that most of the time arises within family nuclei. Too often the male killer is a husband, companion, partner”.
